Center for Computational science & e-Systems, Japan Atomic Energy Agency

logo_ccse

The center has been promoting research activities in the computational science field to solve nuclear problems which are difficult to treat through experimental and theoretical approach or require large experimental costs. As a part of the effort, the center sets the base in the Future Center and promotes research collaboration and information exchange with the University of Tokyo. The collaboration theme is related to the establishment of new academic scheme and technological foundation on computational science, and to the application of research results to computational nuclear science.

Database Center for Life Science

logo_dbcls

Database Center for Life Science (DBCLS) forms a base for integrating databases in life science field. In the life science field, the era of big data began in the late 1990s, owing to rapidly grown projects such as Genome and Omics projects. Thus positioning itself as a specialized institution to provide biological databases and related services, DBCLS integrates and maintains biological databases mainly within Japan, conducts R&D of information technology and develops new services to enhance usability.
DBCLS also aims to resolve these issues through multilateral activities including R&D to improve database reusability, BioHackthon and training programs.

UT-Heart Inc.

ut

The UT-Heart is multi-scale multi-physics heart simulator unique in the world that has been developed by the fusion of computational science and medical science. It can reproduce the heart function ranging from the kinetics of protein molecules within cells to the ejection of blood on the computer. Already reached the stage of clinical research, it is expected to result in breakthrough in personalized medicine, drug discovery and development of medical devices.
